Margaret Orr
Celebrating a beloved New Orleans Legend and 2025 Role Model— Margaret Orr

After an incredible 45-year tenure at WDSU-TV, Margaret Orr, Chief Meteorologist and life-saver, retired. Her Emmy-winning hurricane coverage helped keep families safe through New Orleans’ wildest weather. Her dedication and trusted voice earned her:
- Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Press Club of New Orleans & LA Broadcasters
- Induction into the Louisiana Broadcasters Hall of Fame (2025)
- Selection as Honorary Muse by the Krewe of Muses (2024)
Margaret’s impact extends far beyond forecasts. Author of Scrim My Tail: As Told to Margaret Orr — a whimsical tale about Scrim the runaway pup, with all royalties going to Krewe of Barkus to support rescue animals.
Now retired, she finds more time for grandkid pickups, baseball games, and homework help, but she's never too busy to serve up the signature daily weather forecast on social media. Some things never change!
